Mountain Chefs Cookery School is seeking an experienced Chalet Host to work with us out in the French Alps during our Alpine Chalet Chef courses this August. The role involves providing Chalet Hosting services and includes working as a Kitchen Assistant during the course day.
The duties and responsibilities of this role are as follows:-
- Greet students upon their arrival in the resort, taking their luggage into the chalet and placing it in their rooms for them.
- Welcome guests to the resort by serving champagne and canapés on the first evening of their arrival prior to dinner.
- Provide guests with a tour of the chalets, resort and all facilities available to them.
- Ensure all students have required manuals, recipes and training materials for their cookery course.
- During each course day, maintain high standards of hygiene and assist the chefs with keeping the kitchens and cookery school clean at all times – especially at the end of each course day.
- Prepare and ensure breakfast is laid out each morning for the students at 7:00am.
- Ensure that coffee / tea is laid out for self-service.
- Prepare chalets for guest arrival ensuring all rooms are professionally cleaned, beds prepared with clean and correct-sized linen and the kitchen is stocked with all required arrival drinks / snacks.
- With and directed by the Chef, serve dinner and clear tables between courses.
- Ensure kitchen and living spaces are kept clean and tidy at all times, assisting the chef in food preparation as required.
- Clean and turnover the chalet after student departure, preparing the chalet for the next set of students' arrival on Sunday evening.
Person Specification
Applicants must have previous Chalet Hosting experience. Ideally, they should have front of house or kitchen experience. They need to be self-starters and happy to chat and socialise with our cookery students.
Package includes shared accommodation in Sainte Foy and Tignes, all food, and travel to and from the London area to the French Alps.
