You will spend your first two nights in New Zealand in a hostel, and within your first few days in New Zealand our partner organisation will offer a detailed info-workshop, providing you with essential job search advice. Our partner organisation offers many other services to help you on the job search, including:

- Assistance opening a bank account
- Detailed info-workshop in Auckland
- Computers and WLAN access
- Job boards

Our partner organisation’s office, which also encompasses a travel agency, will serve as your contact point during your entire stay - not just during your time in Auckland. Work & Travel
After the first two nights in Auckland, you will be free to travel and search for a job in any part of New Zealand. The decision is all yours - you can decide when, where, and for how long you would like to work and travel within the 12 month window of time. You can expect an average wage of about NZ$ 12 per hour, depending on the job.
The key is to stay flexible! It may take a few days for you to find work, and you may not find what you’re expecting. But don’t worry – New Zealand has an extremely low unemployment rate. Working backpackers have proved to be an irreplaceable part of the Kiwi job market, and all of our past participants have found jobs in New Zealand.
